Welcome
I’m Alexandra, I’m a qualified and experienced psychodynamic counsellor and a certified grief and bereavement counsellor based in Hanley Swan, Worcestershire.

Counselling for adults
I work extensively with people going through major life transitions, loss and change. This might be relationship breakdown, mid-life identity, aging or career changes. When you find yourself on shifting sands, uncertain of the path ahead, I can work with you to make sense of where you find yourself and move forward with clarity and purpose.
Relationship dynamics are also an area of special interest. The psychodynamic approach is uniquely helpful in exploring relationship difficulties, with partners, family and friendships. I offer a gentle space to explore how relationship difficulties in the present, may have deep roots in the past and how understanding these can improve how you relate to yourself and others.
I also have extensive additional training in grief, loss and bereavement and I am honoured to support those experiencing the tender and painful experience of grief and loss.

How can counselling and therapy help?
Counselling and therapy provide the space and time to think and talk about your life in a way that can be uniquely empowering.
It’s a confidential space where you can share thoughts and feelings that you may find more difficult to discuss with friends or family. Therapy sessions give the opportunity to talk with someone professionally trained, who can be objective and is separate from your life and those close to you.
Psychodynamic therapy offers the space to explore your past and how it has impacted you, to look at your life now and where you may be feeling unhappy, unfulfilled or stuck and to think about what you want from your life, your work and your relationships.
By facing where you find yourself now, therapy can help you to connect with your self again, decide what you want to change and support you to move forward with clarity and purpose
Some benefits of counselling include but are not limited to:
Greater self-esteem and confidence
Improvements in relationships
Relief from anxiety and depression
Coming to terms with loss and change
Greater self-knowledge, understanding and self-acceptance
increased assertiveness, enabling healthy boundaries and coping effectively with conflict.
Gaining clarity, sense of purpose and meaning in life.
Achieving true potential in life.
The way i work
Psychodynamic Approach: I’m interested in how past experiences, emotional patterns and relational dynamics influence your life now and shape how you live, love and work. Together, we can explore the unique tapestry of your life and make sense of how this may be driving you in unwanted directions and how you can move forwards with choice and awareness.
Relational and collaborative: A good therapeutic relationship has the potential to be deeply healing. Together, we build a safe, trusting space where you are seen, heard, understood and respected. I bring professional skill and structure but always with warmth and compassion- staying responsive to what you need.

If you are looking for professional support with a counsellor who listens deeply, helps you to feel understood, and supports you in making meaningful shifts, I’d be honoured to walk beside you.
